Chrisma Blog#2 - Journey to Perfection
It has been rail coaster ride for these view days, lot things happen in my work and my assignment as a program manager and supportive team member for this AACE certification. I will briefly tell my story here in this blog.
TRANSFORMERS
As a program manager in a group that based on trust and reliable is really tough position to go through. Yet again this project assignment also only as big 5 or 6 in others priority list. While for me this AACE assignment is in big 2 of my priority, yet we cannot forcing other to have the same perfection and perspective. It is really hard to not to reply or try to support others, while we also have the number ONE as our top priority.
I know that in a team we have to support each other. Just like in football team, there are different kind of positions, all of the positions are important to achieve team goals. We need a play maker that can roll and passing to all team members. And we all believe that that person in a team will do as best as he/ she can to fulfill teams trust upon him/ her. This is my goal as a team member, always to do the best that I could for my team, sometimes we have to do it and stick to it.
Performing stage will never be happen if there are members that not feeling that he/ she is in this team. Performing would not be happen if norming has not been established yet.
Taken from http://www.businessballs.com/tuckmanformingstormingnormingperforming.htm as you can see we need to have an agreement among us first before we could and proceed to performing phase. It is understandably how is DR.PDG demand for us to settle down our agreement ahead before any disputes happen near future.

We are in chain of upgrade, I think as we evolve, we need to setting up who is against and who is riding the bus. The problem is how to connect and communicate, follow up to giving ideas and proceed to next process.
Reporting to Board.
Trying to implement something new is just like baby try to learn how to walk. Either he can walk or fall will be depend on how he stand. If he stand firmly we surely could have a single step. That is what I have in this week.
I showed my Earn Value Analysis to my superior before he went to meeting. I give all related information about my running projects. Please view below for the S curve:

As you can see, my project is 1 month and 2 weeks late. Yet my actual payment is still under control. And yes I know this project is running late since month August because rains still poured even it is August, a risk that unknown-unknown. I have send back to contractor about my concern and so I use milestones for every floor in order to give me early notification for short term rather to have longer term.
But, not all aware with this S curve and situations. All that the others know that this project is BEHIND schedule. Yes, it is difficult to please everyone. Luckily I am used to handle the clients from hell. :)
But, still big questions in my head after creating this Earn Value Analysis of my own. With my own data, why is it not as easy as in example when I am in the class? #1.Why do we need this for?
#2.Why in my calculations as picture shown

The Estimate at completion using the formula that takes into account CPI only is can be lower then the baseline budget?
#3.What is the formula to Estimated Cost to Complete?
Still learning and enjoying my confuse as I know this is a good knowledge for all. But much appreciate for your input DR. PDG.
Thank you,
Chris
